Diane Daniels Welcome to the Home of the famous BULLDOGS and Mississippi State University’s Summer Developmental Program (SDP) where our goal is to “coach and cheer” you along a winning path to success!

This website is designed to give you all the basic information you need to enter our Summer Developmental Program at the end of a “click.”

As your Instructors and Mentors, our major focus is to help YOU succeed in your college career. In the Summer Developmental Program, we provide an alternate path for under-prepared students to enter and graduate from Mississippi State University.

Students participating in the Summer Developmental Program enroll in one or more deficient subject areas (English, reading or mathematics) along with the learning skills laboratory.  Subject area deficiencies are determined based on ACT subscores and/or ACCUPLACER scores. They receive training in study skills and counseling to enhance their ability to succeed at the university. After successfully completing the SDP, students may be admitted to any of Mississippi’s eight public universities.

My staff and I are glad to answer any questions you may have about our program. Our office is conveniently located in Room 2207 (inside the Center for Teaching & Learning) on the second floor of Mitchell Memorial Library. We look forward to “cheering you on” at Mississippi State University.
